“Tram-tastic Trek to Uetliberg

Got a short layover and don’t want to travel too far to go to a hiking destination? Uetliberg is just a short train ride away from Zurich. Let’s make your trip unforgettable! Here’s your fun and cool guide to getting there.

Step 1: Get App-Savvy First things first, make sure you’ve got the SBB Mobile app on your phone. Open it up and get ready to plan your journey. If you’re not into apps, the website works just as well. But come on, it’s 2024 – live a little!

Plan Your Journey: My hotel was just across the street from the Toni-Areal Station, so I punched in Toni-Areal as my starting point and Uetliberg as my destination. The app did its magic and showed me the best route. 🧙‍♂️✨

From Toni-Areal to Zurich HB (Main Train Station): I hopped on Tram 4 from Toni-Areal heading towards Zurich HB. Enjoyed the 15-minute ride and snapped a few pics along the way. Pro tip: Try not to look too much like a tourist. 😜

Transfer at Zurich HB: Once I arrived at Zurich HB, I followed the signs to the train platforms. Use the app to find the platform for the S10 train to Uetliberg. It’s like a treasure hunt, but with fewer pirates and more Swiss efficiency.

From Zurich HB to Uetliberg: Jump on the S10 train and get ready for a scenic 20-25 minute ride up to Uetliberg. Pro tip: Grab a window seat for the best views! You’ll thank me later.

Arrive at Uetliberg: Step off the train and breathe in that fresh mountain air. Time to hike and explore! 🏞️

Hiking at Uetliberg:

• Panoramic Views: Get ready for jaw-dropping views of Zurich, the lake, and the Alps. Perfect for those Insta-worthy shots! 📸

• Planet Trail: Check out the Planet Trail, a cool hike that represents the solar system. Fun and educational – who knew hiking could be so cosmic?

• Uetliberg Tower: Feeling adventurous? Climb the Uetliberg Tower for an even higher vantage point. The view is totally worth it!

• Seasonal Beauty: Whether it’s autumn leaves or a winter wonderland, Uetliberg is stunning year-round.

Extra Tips:

• Best Time to Visit: Early morning or late afternoon for fewer crowds and the best light.

• Dining Options: Treat yourself at Uto Kulm or Gmüetliberg. Nothing beats a meal with a view!
